Journey of Light
Journey of Light is a 5-day expedition event. You send teams on 8-hour expeditions, and each one brings back a Radiance Treasure. This guide covers how many expeditions you can run and what to do with the treasures.
Plan your own event with the Journey of Light simulator.
Teams and time
One team running non-stop finishes 15 expeditions over the event. You can run up to 4 teams: the second costs 2,000 gems, the third 10,000 gems, and the fourth only comes in a paid pack. With all 4 teams that's 60 expeditions.
Pocket Watches skip one hour each, and you get one free per day — 5 over the event. That's not enough to add a whole expedition on its own: an extra expedition takes 8 watches on one team. Stack your watches on a single team rather than spreading them out, and send teams out again as soon as they return; idle hours are lost.
Treasures and assembly
Each expedition drops a Common treasure, or a Premium one 10% of the time. You can assemble them:
- 3 Common → 1 Premium (always works).
- 3 Premium → 1 Exquisite, or a Dazzling treasure 25% of the time.
Common and Premium treasures pay gems, Enhancement XP and speedups. Exquisite and Dazzling ones pay Mythic hero shards and Lucky Hero Gear Chests instead. What 100 expeditions are worth on average, depending on how much you assemble:
| Per 100 expeditions | Gems | Mythic shards | Lucky Gear Chests | Speedups (h) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Keep every treasure | 23,000 | 0 | 0 | 95 |
| Assemble Commons only | 20,000 | 0 | 0 | 80 |
| Assemble everything | 500 | 52 | 52 | 54 |
So the choice is gems against heroes: keeping everything is about 23,000 gems per 100 expeditions, while assembling everything turns that into about 52 Mythic shards and 52 Lucky Hero Gear Chests.
How to plan
- Keep every team busy. An idle team is the most common way to lose expeditions.
- Decide on assembly up front. If you're building a Mythic hero, assemble everything; if you need gems, keep the treasures.
- Check the milestones. The expedition-count rewards are a big part of the event — the simulator tells you which ones your teams can reach and what it takes to get further.
