Moon Chief
Moon Chief is the personal scoring event of the Moonlight Festival. It runs in 7 stages of 24 hours, each with its own theme and its own list of scoring actions. Points reset between stages, so the whole game is doing the right thing on the right day.
Plan every stage, with your saved calculator plans imported, in the Moon Chief planner.
The stages
| Stage | Theme | Most points per unit | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Power Boost | Use Epic Recruitment 1 time | 11,000 each |
| 2 | Beast Slay | Call a rally and hunt down 1 Polar Terror (initiator only) | 30,000 each |
| 3 | Hero Development | Use Epic Recruitment 1 time | 11,000 each |
| 4 | Train Troops | Troop Training & Promotion | 140 per T11 troop |
| 5 | Hero Gear | Use 1 Widget of any Hero Exclusive Gear | 50,000 each |
| 6 | Gather Resources | Gather 50 Iron in the Wilderness | 10 per 50 |
| 7 | Chief Gear | Use 1m of Construction Speedup (gem speedups excluded) | 60 per minute |
Where the big points are
- Hero Exclusive Gear Widgets are the most valuable item in the event at 50,000 each (Stage 5), with Essence Stones at 25,000. Plan exclusive-gear upgrades for that day.
- Polar Terror rallies pay 30,000 — but only to the player who starts the rally. Solo beasts of any level from 1 to 30 pay the same 9,900, so hunt the cheap ones.
- Hero items — Epic Recruitment (11,000) and Mythic shards (6,000) — score in Stages 1 and 3. Split a big stash between the two days.
- Speedups score 60 per minute — that's 3,600 per hour — in Stages 3 and 7; speedups bought with gems during the event don't count.
Troops: promote, don't train
In the troop stage a Lv.11 troop scores 140 points. Promoting a troop scores only the difference between the tiers — a Lv.9 promoted to Lv.11 scores 140 − 90 = 50 — but promotion costs far fewer resources, so it's usually the better buy. Only finished batches count: start long queues so they complete during the stage.
How to plan
- Save for the right stage. Hold Widgets and Essence Stones for Stage 5, Chief Gear upgrades (50 per point of gear score) for Stage 7, and hero items for Stages 1 and 3.
- Don't buy points. Gems score 10 each — spend spares, but never buy items just for the score.
- Set a target. Stage reward thresholds depend on your account level, so enter your own target in the planner and let it show what each stage needs.
