Frosty Fortune
Frosty Fortune is a 7-day chest event. You spend Gems of Enigma to open chests on a board of 9; chests drop Thorns of Enigma (the shop currency for skins and other items), plus hero shards, Fire Crystals and gear chests. Each chest costs 60 Gems of Enigma, so the whole event comes down to how many gems you have and which chests you spend them on.

Gems of Enigma: what you get for free
- Daily missions give 120 Gems of Enigma a day: 840 over the event, enough for 14 chests.
- The mission pack doubles that to 240 a day — 1,680 over the event, or 28 chests.
- Unused Gems of Enigma carry over to the next Frosty Fortune. Thorns don't: any left when the event ends are converted into resources.
That last point matters: if you can't reach the reward you want this time, saving gems for the next run is better than opening chests for Thorns you'll lose.
The board and refreshes
A full board of 9 chests costs 540 Gems of Enigma to clear. You get 3 free refreshes a day, then each one costs 90 gems; clearing a board gives you a fresh one for free.
Chests come in three rarities, and the gap between them is large:

The rarity odds and reward tables come from a single community capture — the game's own odds screen hasn't been published in full — so treat them as close estimates.
An average chest gives about 3.3 Thorns, roughly 18 gems per Thorn. A Splendid chest averages 13.4 Thorns, while a Regular one gives only 1.8 — about 34 gems per Thorn, close to double the average. Only about 8.5% of tiles are Splendid.
Milestones
Opening chests also counts towards milestone rewards at 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 chests. The last one needs 3,000 Gems of Enigma in total — more than the free gems of a single run, which is another reason players bank gems across events.
Skins: how many gems?
The Snowmobile and Mammoth march skins are bought with Thorns. How many gems that takes depends on luck, so the community wiki simulated it. Interpolating its figures:
- A 90% chance at the Snowmobile skin takes about 3,488 Gems of Enigma.
- A 90% chance at the Mammoth skin takes about 5,313 Gems of Enigma.
Compare that with the 840 free gems per event: a skin is a multi-event save for free players, or a pack purchase.
Packs
Gem packs reset daily. Smaller packs give more Gems of Enigma per dollar:

If you're buying, the cheap packs every day beat one big pack — and the simulator works out the cheapest way to close the gap to your target.
Tips
- Decide your target first — a skin, a milestone or just Thorns — and check it in the simulator before opening anything.
- Open Splendid and Exquisite chests first, and use your free refreshes on boards that are almost all Regular.
- Don't buy refreshes casually: one costs as much as one and a half chests.
- Spend your Thorns before the end. Leftovers only turn into resources.
- Bank Gems of Enigma when you can't reach your goal this run.
