March formation: capacity and ratios
A march is the group of troops you send out — to a rally, a gathering tile or an event. You can send up to 6 at once. How many troops each one holds, and in what mix, decides how much it does. This guide covers both.
Split your own troops across marches with the March Formation calculator.
Raising capacity
Two buffs make every march bigger for a while:
- City Bonus — Deployment Capacity Boost: +10% for 2 hours, or +20% for 12 hours. Only one can be active at a time.
- Snow Ape — Tumbling Power: a pet skill that adds a flat 1,500 troops per skill level, up to 15,000 at level 10, for 2 hours. The Snow Ape arrives around server day 200.
The percentage applies to your base capacity and the Snow Ape's bonus is added on top:
| Buffs | Capacity of a 100,000 march |
|---|---|
| No buffs | 100,000 |
| City Bonus +10% | 110,000 |
| City Bonus +20% | 120,000 |
| Snow Ape level 10 | 115,000 |
| Both (+20% and Snow Ape 10) | 135,000 |
So a 100,000 march with both buffs holds 135,000 troops — 35% more. Across 6 marches that's 210,000 extra troops in the field. Because the Snow Ape's bonus is flat, it matters most for smaller marches.
Both buffs are short, so switch them on just before the event or rally you want them for.
Troop ratios
The right mix depends on the event. These are common community starting points, not game rules — tune them to your heroes and what your alliance asks for:
| Formation | Infantry / Lancer / Marksman | In a 100,000 march |
|---|---|---|
| Crazy Joe — City Defense | 90 / 10 / 0 | 90,000 / 10,000 / 0 |
| Crazy Joe — HQ Assault | 60 / 40 / 0 | 60,000 / 40,000 / 0 |
| Bear Hunt — Rally Lead | 10 / 10 / 80 | 10,000 / 10,000 / 80,000 |
| Bear Hunt — Joiner | 0 / 0 / 100 | 0 / 0 / 100,000 |
| Balanced | 34 / 33 / 33 | 34,000 / 33,000 / 33,000 |
- Bear Hunt is about damage, so rally leads run mostly marksmen behind a thin front line, and joiners send marksmen only.
- Crazy Joe waves are fought infantry-first, so city defense is mostly infantry; HQ waves use more lancers.
- For everything else, the Combat guide explains how the three troop types counter each other.
How to plan
- Buff right before it counts. Time City Bonus and the Snow Ape's skill to the rally or event, not the hour before.
- Fill every march. Empty capacity is wasted; the calculator shows what each march holds with your buffs.
- Follow your alliance's call. For alliance events, the leader's ratio for the wave beats any preset.
